(5.2.2) Process Definition
Perform Quality Assurance is the process for "applying the planned, systematic quality activities to ensure that the project employs all processes needed to met the requirements" (comp. PMBOK3, p. 179). This process itself is a meta process: It has to improve products and processes following the rule that "continuous process improvement provides an iterative means for improving the quality of all processes" (comp. PMBOK3, p. 187).

(5.2.3) Tools and Techniques
PMBOK Mentioned Methods
- Quality Planning Tools and Techniques may support not only the process Quality Planning, but also this process Perform Quality Assurance (comp. PMBOK3, p. 189). Such tools and techniques are "brainstorming", "affinity diagrams", "force field analysis", "nominal group techniques", "matrix diagrams", "flowcharts", and "prioritization matrices" (comp. PMBOK3, p. 186).
- Quality Audits are autonomous investigations and reviews "[...] to determine whether project activities comply whith organizational and project policies, processes, and procedures". Using quality audits one can also "[...] confirm the implementation of approved change requests, corrective actions, defect repairs, and preventive actions" which are generated by the process Perform Quality Control (comp. PMBOK3, p. 189).
- Process Analysis are the results generated by analyzing other processes with respect to the Process Improvement Plan (comp. PMBOK3, p. 189).
- Quality Control Tools and Techniques are the same as used in process Perform Quality Control

(5.2.4) Process Output
- Requested Changes are generated on the base of the praxis: one should (iteratively) "[...] increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the policies, processes, and procedures of the performing organization [...]".
- Recommended Corrective Actions are project specific improvements which still must be approved.
- Updates of the Organizational Process Assets - as general unit - may also be evoked by improving the single project.
- Updates of the Project Management Plan are evoked by improving the planning of quality ensuring.
